LAUNDRY ASSISTANT

Laundry attendant careers include work in hospitality, personal services and health care industries, in varied settings that range from hotels and cruise ships to coin-operated laundromats and hospitals. In hospitality related positions, Laundry attendants handle the washing of beds and dining linens, towels and personal laundry of guests. In healthcare settings, laundry attendant assist with the cleaning and sanitizing of bedding, hospital gowns, and patients laundry. While coin-operated laundromats are often self-service, some laundromats offer fluff-and fold services in which customers drop off batches of laundry to be washed, folded and packaged.  

LAUNDRY ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Sorting linens, towels, clothing and other laundry items by color, size and materials.
  2. Wrapping laundry items for pickup or delivery to customers and hospitality guests.
  3. Washing items with commercial laundry equipment following proper sanitization protocols.
  4. Cleaning and maintaining laundry room area and equipment.
  5. Unloading laundry from commercial dryers.
  6. Stocking laundries supplies such as detergent, bleach, laundry bags and fabric softener.
  7. Creating laundry tags with identifiable customer information.
  8. Creating invoices for laundry orders.
