ROOM ATTENDANT

A room attendant is an individual employed by a hotel and responsible for room’s maintenance and upkeep. A room attendant’s responsibilities include cleaning the room, making the bed, cleaning the bath, removing trash from the room, restocking all rooms everyday, and ensuring the safety of the rooms.

The room attendant’s duties may vary depending on compensation structure of hotels:

In an extended stay hotel, the room attendant will generally have responsibility of cleaning the room.

In a mid scale hotel, the room attendant generally has more responsibilities, including making the bed, cleaning the bath, and helping guests with their luggage.  

ROOM ATTENDANTS RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform general housekeeping duties to include providing guest laundry services, performing room turns, and stocking of supplies.
  2. Perform general office duties such as, answering telephones, making guests reservations, and sorting mail.
  3. Maintain cleanliness of assigned guest rooms.
  4. Maintain cleanliness of lobby and other public spaces.
  5. Maintain cleanliness of assigned work areas.
  6. Maintain cleanliness of bathrooms, corridors, stairwells, and other work areas.
  7. Maintain cleanliness of assigned meeting rooms.
  8. Clean up spills and accidents as needed.
  9. Clean and sanitize all work areas.
  10. Maintain cleanliness of assigned offices.
  11. Maintain cleanliness of assigned guest rooms.
